Playoffs prior to 1997 were not done by division

Trivia

n      Only 5 times in history has the team with the best regular season record (including ties*) won the TFFL Bowl.  Death Star (1990, 1993, 1994), Gotham (*2001) and Springfield (*2003)

n      Death Star won the 1996 TFFL Bowl after posting a 7-7 regular season mark, becoming the only team without a winning record in the regular season to win the title

n      In 2003, River Styx became the first team with a losing regular season record (6-7) to win a game in the playoffs.  The Ferrymen advanced to the TFFL Bowl before losing to Springfield

n      In all, eight teams with losing records have made the playoffs.  Only one, Arkham (7-8 in 1993) happened prior to conference play.  A team with a losing record has made the playoffs each of the last seven seasons since 1997.  The only division not to have a team with a losing record make the playoffs is the Legends Division.

n      Since going to conference play in 1997, six wild card teams have advanced to the TFFL Bowl.  On two occasions, both wild card teams faced off in the TFFL Bowl with Springfield defeating Arkham (1999) and Drunkenheim defeating Weekend (2002).  Springfield also won the title as a wild card team in 2000, while River Styx lost in the title game in 2003.

n      Only three times has the TFFL Bowl Champion failed to make the playoffs the following year.  Death Star (won in 1996, missed in 1997), Gotham (2001, 2002) and Drunkenheim (2002, 2003)

n      There have been six occasions when a team that failed to make the playoffs the previous year won the title not including the first season.  Silverado (1991), Fourth World (1997), Drunkenheim (1998), Gotham (2001), Drunkenheim (2002) and Springfield (2003).  Fourth World (6-8 in 1996), Drunkenhiem (3-10 in 1997, 5-8 in 2001) and Gotham (league worst 3-10 in 2001) had posted losing records the previous season
